I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida, and I have been in private practice since 2012. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree (Psychology, 2004) and Master’s degree (Mental Health Counseling, 2010) from Rollins College. My office is located in Winter Park, FL.
I passionately believe in the power of counseling, and have confidence to help you reach your personal goals. I LOVE working with Millennials (I am also–just barely–one of them) and have years of experience working with teens-40’s. I most often work with individuals and couples, occasionally work with families, and sometimes run groups that meet the needs within my community.
Specifically, I often see those who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and major life transitions. I have worked in high school and college settings, and have experience supporting students through social, familial, academic, and athletic challenges, as well as encouraging healthy work/life balance. The heartbeat of my practice centers on working with the Millenial generation, and all the obstacles that come during these stages of development. I love working with graduate students, particularly those who are also pursuing degrees in Mental Health Counseling, and have recently become a Qualified Supervisor so I can be a more intricate part of a graduate student’s transformation towards becoming a counselor. Additionally, as a mom to two spunky daughters, I enjoy working with prenatal and postpartum women, their partners and families.
I strongly believe in the healing power of the counseling relationship. It is through this positive relationship that awareness and change can take place in the safety of the counseling room. I utilize mindfulness-based practices throughout my work, bringing attunement and presence to each and every session.
Education
I graduated with Honors from the Rollins Master’s in Mental Health Counseling program in 2010, and received the “Outstanding Counselor” award in my graduating class. In 2004, I was invited to become a part of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan community, which is an award given to graduating seniors, alumni and community members in the Southern United States for excellence of character and service to humanity. I was an All-American Rower in college, and have a strong background in sport and physical health/nutrition.
My greatest and most proud accomplishment is becoming a mom to three spirited, hilarious children. My family is everything to me.
